Why does it matter that nothing gets uploaded?

Most image tools send your files to a server. This one does not. Here is why that actually matters.

🔒
Private by design
Your files stay on your device. No server receives them. Not even a pixel leaves your browser tab.
Actually instant
No upload wait. No queue. Processing starts the moment you drop the file, using your own CPU.
🇪🇺
GDPR by default
Since nothing leaves your browser, there is nothing to comply with. Privacy with zero effort on your part.

Questions people actually ask

Answered honestly, without the marketing spin.

Does my image get uploaded anywhere?
No. Zero. Nil. Your image never leaves your device. Everything happens in the browser using JavaScript. We literally cannot see your files even if we wanted to.
Is this actually free?
Yes. No freemium. No watermarks. No export limits. No sign-up. You get the full thing. We keep the lights on with unobtrusive ads. That is the deal.
What image formats are supported?
JPG, JPEG, JFIF, PNG, WebP, GIF, BMP, TIFF, HEIC, HEIF, ICO. The convert tool handles all of these. Most other tools work with JPG, PNG and WebP.
Is there a file size limit?
Not from our side. Your browser memory is the practical limit. Images under 50MB work fine on any modern device.
Will compressing my image ruin the quality?
Not if you pick a sensible setting. 75 to 85% is the sweet spot. You will barely notice a difference but the file size drops a lot.
How does the blur censor tool work?
You drag to select a rectangle on the image. We apply a blur filter to that area. Add multiple regions, adjust strength, then download.
Can I read EXIF data from my photos?
Yes. Drop a JPG into the EXIF Data tool and we show you make, model, date, GPS, ISO and more. You can also strip all metadata and download a clean version.
What is the Base64 tool for?
Developers mainly. It converts images to base64 strings you can embed in HTML or CSS, or decodes a base64 string back to a viewable image.

What is FreeImageTools?

FreeImageTools is a free browser-based image toolkit. No account, no upload, no installation. Every tool runs locally on your device — your images never leave your browser.

The most used tools are Compress Image (shrink file size without visible quality loss), Convert Image (JPG, PNG, WebP, HEIC, JFIF and more), Resize Image (exact pixel dimensions or percentage), Crop Image (free crop or fixed ratio), and Reduce to KB (hit an exact file size target). Other tools cover watermarking, censoring, EXIF stripping, grayscale, color picking, and more.
